How we handle your data
A site about consent should be clear about its own. Here is exactly what we collect, why, and how to have it removed.
The short version
This site collects no personal information. It carries no forms of any kind. We use anonymous analytics, and only if you accept them. Email us and we hold your email the way any mailbox does, and nothing more.
The signup form is off
This site ran a newsletter signup form until 4 August 2026. We took it down, so no page collects a name, an email address, a role, a state or a school name any more. Nothing on this site writes to a database.
If you signed up while the form was running, your details sat in a Supabase database in the ap-southeast-2 (Sydney) region and stayed in Australia, and you received one welcome email through Resend. Nobody sold, shared or reused that data. Email hello@algorithms.technology and we will delete your row within 7 days and confirm when it is gone.
To follow the investigation now, email us and we will add you to the next update. That means your address sits in our mailbox, and you can ask us to drop it at any time.
Analytics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 for anonymous usage analytics. This helps us understand which pages people find most useful, how they arrive at the site, and whether the information is reaching the people it needs to.
When you first visit the site, a consent banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. The page never loads the Google Analytics script at all unless you accept. If you decline, we collect no analytics data and nothing is sent to Google, not even an anonymous ping. Your browser keeps that choice in local storage and remembers it on future visits.
We do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors. We do not run advertising. We do not use remarketing or tracking pixels.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share your data with third parties for marketing.
- We do not use your email for anything other than this investigation's updates.
- We do not store payment information (there is nothing to pay for).
- We do not collect data from children. This site is for parents, teachers, and policy makers.
Your rights
You can request the following at any time by emailing hello@algorithms.technology:
- Access: Ask what data we hold about you. If you never signed up while the form was running, the answer is none.
- Correction: Ask us to correct anything inaccurate.
- Deletion: Ask us to delete everything we hold. We will do it within 7 days and confirm when it is gone.
- Unsubscribe: Ask us to stop emailing you. Every update we send also carries an unsubscribe line.

Hosting
GitHub Pages hosts this site and Cloudflare manages the DNS. GitHub and Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request times) as part of their normal operations. We do not access these logs.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and note the date of change. For significant changes, we will also notify subscribers by email.
If something here is unclear, email us and we will clarify it.
